Preemie Foundation is off to a really slow start

I thought by now, we would have much more support than we do. Everyone I tell about our charity is really excited and wishes us well, but that's about it. Unfortunately, it's hard to continue our mission without donations. It's also unfortunate that it takes money to make money, but that's a hard reality. We're still trying very hard to spread the word and gather donations, but people just aren't willing to part with their dollars. That's especially difficult since families with preemies are in desparate need of support.

Preemie Foundation is starting to organize its first event

American Preemie Foundation, www.preemiefoundation.org , is planning on having a lunch-type fundraising event in South Florida this May and we are in the early planning stages. We haven't confirmed a location yet, but I think once we get that squared away, everything else should fall into place. In this state of the economy, I think it might be difficult to get vendors to donate their services and products. I'm hoping people still feel the need to donate to worthy causes like the American Preemie Foundation. It's my thought that if you can afford it, now is the perfect time to donate because you know someone else has it worse. Hopefully the vendors will feel the same way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Our new logo

The Preemie Foundation's official logo has been completed, so it should make it's debut on our website sometime in the next week. It's really cute and we're really excited to have a professional logo. Something I've learned throughout this whole process is that everything takes time. A lot of patience is needed since nothing happens instantly.

I hope to get a good support network going for the local community. It would be fun to have families with preemies get together in person to share experiences and meet others with similar struggles and triumphs.
